Hau Thao

Hau Thao is a rural commune in the highlands near Sa Pa in Lao Cai province, northwestern Vietnam. Its villages are home mainly to Hmong communities and lie among steep valleys of terraced rice fields beneath the Hoang Lien Son mountains. The area is visited mostly on trekking routes from Sa Pa, where walkers come for mountain scenery, rural village life and homestays.
