Colorado Springs is a city in El Paso County, Colorado, at the eastern foot of the Rocky Mountains south of Denver. Pikes Peak rises to the west and can be reached by road, trail or cog railway. The city is known for the red sandstone formations of Garden of the Gods, the United States Air Force Academy and the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center. Nearby draws include Manitou Springs, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and hiking in the foothills.
