Chelan is a small city in north-central Washington, located at the southeastern end of Lake Chelan, a long, deep glacier-fed lake reaching into the North Cascades. It is a popular summer resort known for its sunny climate, lake beaches and boating. The surrounding valley has a growing number of wineries and orchards, and boats from the area carry visitors up the lake to the remote community of Stehekin.
