Leavenworth is a small city in central Washington, set in the Cascade Mountains along the Wenatchee River. The town remodeled itself in the style of a Bavarian village, with alpine-style buildings, German restaurants and seasonal festivals such as Oktoberfest and an annual Christmas lighting celebration. Its mountain setting also makes it a base for hiking, river rafting, rock climbing and winter sports.
