Carolina Beach is a seaside town on Pleasure Island in New Hanover County, North Carolina, just south of Wilmington between the Atlantic Ocean and the Cape Fear River. It is known for its family-oriented beach, oceanfront boardwalk and fishing pier. Visitors come for swimming, surfing and fishing, and for Carolina Beach State Park, whose trails pass through habitat of the native Venus flytrap.
