Mount Pleasant is a town in South Carolina's Lowcountry, across the Cooper River from Charleston and linked to it by the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. It is known for Patriots Point naval museum, home of the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown, and for Boone Hall Plantation. Visitors also come for the seafood restaurants on Shem Creek, the tradition of sweetgrass basket weaving and easy access to nearby beaches.
