Chatham is a town in Kent, in southeast England, on the River Medway as part of the Medway Towns. For centuries it was home to a major Royal Navy dockyard, and the Historic Dockyard Chatham now preserves its ropery, warships and naval buildings as a large museum complex. Visitors also come for Fort Amherst, riverside walks and nearby Rochester with its cathedral and castle.
