Some of the best beaches south of Manzanillo have no road to them. Punta Mona is one. This is not a guided tour, it is a boat that takes you there and comes back for you, which is exactly what most people want.
You agree two times with the captain before you go: when you leave Manzanillo and when you want collecting. What happens in between is yours. Walk, swim, sit under the trees, take a book. Punta Mona was a permaculture farm for years and the land around it still shows it.
This water is inside the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge, so refuge rules apply on the boat and on the beach. No pets and no alcohol. Fresh fruit and coconut water come with the ride. Bring water, food and shade, because there is nothing to buy once you are there.
