San Lucas Treetop Dining Experience | 9 Course Dinner

Dinner in a private glass pod above the Monteverde cloud forest, timed for sunset. San Lucas Treetop Dining serves its 9-course A Tribute to Costa Rica menu at a single seating, 5:00 PM, so every table watches the light fade over the canopy while the courses arrive.

The menu

Nine courses that unfold as a culinary story through Costa Rica's provinces, built on seasonal local ingredients. The menu evolves over time, so each visit can be different. Wine pairings, cocktails, beer, smoothies, coffee and non-alcoholic drinks are available to order.

The setting

Every table sits in its own fully enclosed, weather-protected glass pod with panoramic forest views, so rain never cancels dinner. All pods are identical. San Lucas is located at Chira Glamping Hotel in Monteverde and is wheelchair accessible throughout. It has been ranked #2 among the World's Most Unique Restaurants, named in the Top 20 World's Most Romantic Dining Destinations, and featured by BBC Travel.

Good to know

1. Seating at 5:00 PM only. Dinner lasts about 2 to 2.5 hours.
2. Dress code: smart casual.
3. Children are welcome (recommended from age 5) and pay the adult price.
4. Only one menu is served per table, and each guest orders their own tasting menu.
5. Dietary options: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-friendly (not certified gluten-free), lactose-free, shellfish-free and mild nut allergies. Corn, onion, garlic, beet, sunflower, olive oil, tomato, sugar, sweet pepper, celery, carrot and mild spice cannot be replaced. Guests with severe allergies (gluten, seeds or nuts) are advised not to book because of cross-contamination risk. Tell us your restrictions when booking.
6. Free parking on site. Transportation is not included; ask us if you need a transfer from your hotel.
7. Bring your own wine: corkage of $35 plus tax per bottle, paid at the restaurant.
8. Pets are not permitted.
