Virgin River

The Virgin River is a river in the southwestern United States that flows through parts of Utah, Arizona and Nevada before reaching Lake Mead on the Colorado River system. Over time it has carved Zion Canyon, the centrepiece of Zion National Park in southern Utah. Its best-known stretch is the Narrows, a slot canyon where hikers wade upriver between towering sandstone walls, while other sections draw visitors for scenery and wildlife.
