Stowe is a town in northern Vermont, set in a valley beneath Mount Mansfield, the highest peak in the state. A classic New England village with a white-steepled church, it is one of the best-known ski destinations in the eastern United States thanks to Stowe Mountain Resort. Visitors come for skiing in winter and for hiking, cycling the Stowe Recreation Path, Smugglers' Notch and fall foliage the rest of the year.
