St. Augustine is a city on the northeast Atlantic coast of Florida, founded by Spanish settlers in the sixteenth century and widely regarded as the oldest continuously inhabited European-founded city in the continental United States. Its historic district features narrow streets, Spanish colonial architecture and the Castillo de San Marcos, a coquina stone fort overlooking Matanzas Bay. Visitors also come for nearby beaches, museums and its lighthouse.
