Mystic is a historic seaside village in southeastern Connecticut, on the Mystic River near Long Island Sound. Once a busy shipbuilding and whaling port, it is now known for Mystic Seaport Museum, a large maritime museum with historic ships and a recreated coastal village, and for Mystic Aquarium. Its downtown drawbridge, waterfront shops and seafood restaurants make it a popular New England coastal getaway.
