Healy is a small community in interior Alaska, located along the Parks Highway a short distance north of the entrance to Denali National Park and Preserve. Long associated with coal mining in the Nenana River valley, it now also serves as a gateway for travellers visiting Denali. Visitors use it as a base for park tours, rafting on the Nenana River, hiking and viewing the surrounding mountain scenery.
