Gardiner is a small town in Ulster County in New York's Hudson Valley, at the foot of the Shawangunk Ridge, known locally as the Gunks. It is a gateway to Minnewaska State Park Preserve and the Mohonk Preserve, with dramatic cliffs, lakes, waterfalls and some of the best rock climbing and hiking in the Northeast. Visitors also come for the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, local farms and orchards, and the area's cider and wine.
