Destin is a city on the Florida Panhandle, in Okaloosa County, set on a peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico and Choctawhatchee Bay. It is known for white quartz sand beaches and clear emerald-green water along what is called the Emerald Coast. Destin has a long fishing tradition and a large charter fleet in its harbor, and visitors come for beaches, deep-sea fishing, boating and the shallow sandbar of Crab Island.
