It is best known as the home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, a major repertory theater that draws audiences from across the region. The town also has the large Lithia Park along Ashland Creek, Southern Oregon University and a walkable downtown, and nearby Mount Ashland offers skiing and hiking.
