Saint Lucia is a mountainous island nation in the eastern Caribbean, part of the Lesser Antilles between Martinique and Saint Vincent. It is famed for the Pitons, twin volcanic peaks rising from the sea near the town of Soufriere, along with rainforest, waterfalls and volcanic sulphur springs. Visitors come for beaches, snorkeling and diving, hiking and resorts, with the capital Castries serving as the main port.
