Chuncheon (Korean: 춘천) is the capital city of Gangwon Province, South Korea. Its population is about 290,000 as of 2026. It has a long history dating back to the Paleolithic Age. Its economy is dominated by the service sector. It produces hydroelectric power through dams such as the Soyang Dam and Uiam Dam.
