Horta is the main town of Faial Island in the Azores, Portugal, set on a bay facing the volcanic peak of neighboring Pico. Its marina is a famous stopover for yachts crossing the Atlantic, and sailors traditionally leave painted murals along its harbor walls. Visitors come for whale and dolphin watching, the historic waterfront, the Capelinhos volcano area and ferry trips to Pico.
