Valladolid
Mexico · Yucatan
Valladolid is a colonial city in the eastern part of Mexico's Yucatan state, between Merida and Cancun. Its center is arranged around a main square overlooked by the Church of San Servacio, with pastel-colored streets leading to the former Convent of San Bernardino de Siena. The city is known for the cenotes in and around town, including Cenote Zaci, and is a popular base for visiting the Maya sites of Chichen Itza and Ek Balam.
