Narita is a city in northern Chiba Prefecture, Japan, to the east of Tokyo. Its best-known landmark is Naritasan Shinshoji, a large and historic Buddhist temple complex with extensive grounds, pagodas and a landscaped park. The approach to the temple is a traditional shopping street lined with old wooden shops and restaurants famous for grilled eel, making the town a popular stop for short visits.
